NHL vs AHL rosters Empty NHL vs AHL rosters

Hey, I remember last season in our league, and I've heard the same complaint from pretty much everybody who's played GM Connected, guys got screwed when the season started because the game won't let you simulatneously switch NHL and AHL players/contracts if either side has too much.

When exactly is the period which is our last chance to make sure our rosters are how we want them before everything is locked? Which real-life day would that be? Pretty sure I remember Toronto having $10M-worth of Tomas Vokoun sitting in the minors because of that and I don't want that to happen to anyone again...least of all me! hahaha

Are waivers on? Unless you go over the cap, this shouldn't be an issue unless waivers are on.

Is this because waivers are turned off? I'm not sure why we ever turned them off but I'd like them back on.

Not sure if that answers the question.

We turned them off in Season 1. Remember the CPU kept sending players down randomly After advances?
For example, I remember Columbus lost Bobrovsky to waivers because he got Thomas from me and after the trade went through in advance, Bob was sent down and MTL claimed him

I'd have to suggest leaving them off personally. Too many issues with leaving them on. If you have a simmed game or two you could end up losing player to a CPU team through waivers pretty easily.

I agree with keeping waivers off, I can see a bunch of losses coming because the computer has a "good idea" lol

But about being careful not to screw ourselves at the beginning either, NYI can you check each advancement when we get close to starting the season (like on Monday or whatenever) and let us know?
I know there's no pre-season and that's when you usually finalise your roster, but there's got to be something like it?

Yeah, I'm actually tracking the advances and dates of activities so we'll have a much better idea of what happen and when. I will keep everyone informed.

How many seasons do you think you have left? Just curious.

How? Have you done any math? The season starts in October, you have 2 week sims, yes?
You sim twice a week, yes?
A season runs from October through april, yes? That equals a min of 30 weeks, yes?
In one real-life month you will have completed 8 sims a total of 16 in-game weeks, yes?
Thus to complete a season you are looking at approx. 7-8 real-life weeks.
That plus 2 weeks for playoffs and another for offseason.
This would bring you to 10-11 weeks. Approx. 2 1/2 months.
Thus i'm thinking by the time we get through all that....we will likely only have a month left for the last season, which won't be enough time to get around to another playoffs.
I'm just looking to see some facts and a precise understanding of where everyone is on this. I have done this math based on what I know of the schedule and the duration of a in-game year.
Anyone else got something to throw out there?
