Rule Changes.....
Attention GMs:
Over the last few seasons we have seen a steady decline in activity in the DDHFL. Although we still have a solid group of active GMs, there is less and less activity on the forum and some things need to change.
I have always tried to involve as many GMs as possible in the management of the league. Unfortunately, it seems like it has not helped keep GMs on board. Although I am still very interested in getting feedback from everyone, I have decided that a restructuring of league and revisions of some rules will be necessary to streamline and simplify the management of the league.
The changes are as follows:
Trades
We will no longer have a trade committee. Trades will be approved by the Commissioner on the console.
Trade information is available in the game so posting the trades on the forum, although it's nice, is not necessary.
Approval or rejection of a trade will be final... debating the decision is pointless. Trades will only be approved if fair value is going both ways. Trades involving franchise players, CPUs or highly skilled prospects will be scrutinized very closely.
CPU Settings & New GMs
The main reason we determined that everyone's CPU must be set was so injuries would be avoided. In NHL2013 there was a much higher chance for injury during a simmed game than if you played the game. I don't see a big difference in 2014 when games are simmed vs not simmed....injuries in NHL2014 are terrible either way.
One of the biggest reasons I have to boot GMs from the league is that they do not have their CPU set. Having new GMs start and not understand this creates loads of turnover and ultimately kills the league.
Another similar aspect that kills the recruitment effort is making GMs register on this forum first before they can join in game. I can't tell you how many join requests I reject because they did not register on the site.
Considering all of this....there are 2 more rules that will be changed.
CPUs will not be required to be set. If you can't play the other user GM, the game will be simmed. However, any GM that is consistently inactive or unavailable to play, will be booted.
Join requests will be accepted regardless of forum registration.
Game Settings
I think it was a great idea to adjust the game play settings to increase the difficulty of the game but the management of enforcing this is almost impossible and I know that not everybody was using the same settings.
For season 3, we will go back to hardcore sim settings so everyone is "playing" the same game.
I think these are the biggest changes coming for the upcoming season but I'm open to hear everyone's opinion.
Thank You,
Your Commissioner,

I just don't believe we can ensure that everyone is using the "custom" settings...worse yet, you can actually make the game much easier to play if we use the custom settings.
I really prefer the new settings but how do we manage it and ensure everybody is using the same ones?
I'm certainly open to suggestions/feedback.

Ya I know what your saying. Gms are coming and going on the daily and keeping up with the settings will be tough.

Re: Rule Changes.....
I just registered and maybe half an hour ago I sent a request for the Kings. By the way, is this league still active? I have seen any recent posts on this forum.
