Statement from the Commissioner...
All GMs:
I wanted to take a minute to apologize to all of you for not being as active lately. I had some pretty crazy things happening at work the last few weeks and it's taken a lot of my time and attention. I am seeing the light now so hopefully in the next week or so things will start to level off.
In the next few days, I hope to be addressing some of the issues that came up during season 3, the playoffs & off-season.
A few examples are:
1. The Off-season/Playoff Advancement Schedule - Normal advancement throughout playoffs & once daily for off-season sounds like the popular opinion but we need to nail it down.
2. The trade approval process- we need to streamline this process.
3. A rule to address significant lagging during games.
4. No new GMs accepted without confirmation that league rules have been read and understood.
5. The transition to NHL14
There are a few more issues but these seem to be the biggest at the moment. Please feel free to suggest any other issues you think we should consider.
Once again guys, sorry for my lack of time lately. But rest assured, the DDHFL will continue to improve and will be a great league for a long, long time!

Re: Statement from the Commissioner...
Sounds good man...
Has anybody heard if they're going to make NHL13 GMC rosters able to move to NHL14 or if we're gonna have to start all over again?
Sometimes they make things transfer (Ultimate team for example) but other stuff not (Be A Pro...)

Re: Statement from the Commissioner...
I really hope they can be transferred but I haven't heard anything yet.
If they can't transfer, I'd vote for keeping the same teams we have now but use the fantasy draft. No way I'd want to start all over with the stinking islanders
We definitely need to get a plan together on this.

If they put in a fantasy draft and we can all set a tie or something and sit there and pick, that would be soooo rad...I'm in for that totally...
If it's a Fantasy Draft like the prospect draft now, where you set draft priority and then it does it all for you? Less appealing...lol
Every season's end, I put my priority list together, I put my top choices, then any positions I will eventually need filled, and then just anybody above 3 stars, I'd be happy with 3.5...always more than 30 to guarantee I get at least something...this past season was the very first draft I got someone above 2.5 stars........... Of all the corners to cut EA....................

Re: Statement from the Commissioner...
Wouldn't it be a lot easier to recruit if the league started off with default rosters? I doubt anyone would join a decimated team like Colorado or Anaheim when NHL 14 is released. If you don't like your current default team, like myself, give current members first dibs on the vacant teams when the new league is started. Otherwise, I really don't see the league filling up to 30 GM's.
On an unrelated note, where are we on the backup goalie rule?

Re: Statement from the Commissioner...
Florida is absolutely right. We have to start with default rosters. I understand how hard some of us have worked to get a roster we like, but we have o start fresh. Colorado is horrendous. Not to mention other teams that haven't been touched. We should start fresh and give current GM's dibs.
Also are we enforcing the backup goalie rule Isles? Unless Boston is still the commish in charge of rules. I think backups should play a minimum 10 games.

I believe we should start afresh we can learn from our mistakes in this NHL 13 and make NHL 14 a top league.

Even if we can transfer, I think the we should start fresh because I think the main goal would be to fill the league so it would be the most fun

My main league is addressing this issue right now. They are basing the team selection process on seniority and faithfulness to the league (faithfulness includes forum activity). I would take sens/detroit personally if possible. Already got Tampa for my main. I can look into others if they aren't available.
