Important announcement....

All GMs:

I regret to inform you that the LA GM was removed from the league tonight.

I had received feedback that LA had lag issues throughout the playoffs which possibly could have been used as a strategy against opponents. I was unaware of the issue until after the conference finals or i would have addressed LA sooner.

There is not currently any rule established for this but I feel that lagging affects the outcome of a game and therefore a game should be disqualified if significant lagging occurs.

I contacted LA last night and told him that the playoff series would have to be simmed if he can't get the lag fixed. He assured me he could fix it but as of this evening, it is still not fixed nor do I believe it can be anytime soon.

Florida will have the option to play LA CPU or sim the series.

I forgot to add that because of the circumstances, FLA wins the Season 3 cash prize either way now!

Man I told you why it is still not fix. why do you have to rush a decision without even actually talking to me about when it would be resolved? I told you I knew how to fix it but it takes more than 24 hours before the company gets to my house and fixes the connection.
Why do you have to throw away the Finals just because you couldn't be patient and actually find a solution with the Gms involved?

Congrats to Florida. You earned it man. Its unfortunate and if it can be resolved I say let them. But lag can seriously affect a game. Florida and I had some issues and we just restarted the game. Lag can be used as an advantage believe it or not. I've seen it happen. At the same time I say we give L.A the benefit of the doubt that he was trying to fix it. However we can not differ from the schedule because that would not be fair to Chicago, New Jersey and all others that had their series simmed due to missing the deadline.
We learn from our mistakes and get better as a league. I support any decision you make Islanders. You always make decisions with the leagues best interests in mind. Do what you need to do man you have my support.

Most of our poke checks were pretty spot on, especially during our crazy forechecks. Lag can definitely take away from an effective forecheck and ruin other aspects of the game.

I've let NYI know to sim the finals, it wouldn't feel right if I played the CPU.

That's good of you to allow Islanders to sim the finals but you should play the CPU man. You earned it. Or atleast play 2 games or something. And yes our lag wasn't horrible and didn't effect our styles of play too much.

That's unfortunate. I know LA from a few leagues and I've never had any issues with lag against him. That's very unfortunate.

I gotta say this is depressing to see personally since I've been in several leagues with him including many of my main leagues since I started playing GMC. I'm sure the lag was accidental, but he's 17 and lives at home with a long-term injury. He probably has no clue how to fix lag. I also live at home and we have multiple people using iphones, laptops, etc. and thus sometimes I have lag, but it's not a reoccurring thing. I often have no issues with lag.
I am personally unhappy to see this announcement.

How about using a wired connection? Ethernet cords are cheap and easy to connect and if you really have no idea, GOOGLE it!

Heck I always run a wireless connection. Lag will always be there from time-to-time. I really have a hard time understanding booting someone because of lag. He is a high skill player, and thus if there was lag on one end and not the other I can understand that it might make it easier for him, but really?
As well an Ethernet cord can sometimes require some slight labour, I know personally i'm not about to buy a 60+ foot Ethernet cable or screw through the floor to get a better connection. Lag is there from time-to-time and you just gotta play through it.

No you don't have to play through lag man. It sucks but its also very annoying and frustrating to play with lag. We try to minimize lag as much as possible in this league.

Good luck! Never considered trying to completely avoid lag myself!

I'll be recommending a new rule to address lagging before the start of season 4.

Everyone will have an opportunity to voice their opinion and we'll proceed accordingly.
