New setting feedback
I know these settings are lightyears better then last season because every game isnt over 14 combined goals but some proposals people have had are aggression and pass assist need to be turned down. Anyone opposed to this or have any other feed back or suggestions. I would like to hear feedback from everyone on this subject since we all play this to be competitive and for our enjoyment

Personally, I wouldn't change a single thing myself.

Re: New setting feedback
Although I am very frustrated with my ability to score goals, I love the settings! They are way more realistic and user vs user games are not decided by anyone's ability to exploit the glitches...they actually have to "work" for the win now.
Excellent job for bringing this to the league CBJ!
I have a little rant here now....Am I the only person that is absolutely disgusted with the way the CPU cheats it's ass off? It's pretty bad when I can call a CPU goal is going to happen 15 seconds before hand. But it's pretty obvious when you see every loose puck go to the CPU's way and even the weakest shot goes right past an elite goalie. God forbid you score a goal to make it a close game because you know the next shot from just about anywhere for the CPU is going to go in....that shit is ridiculous!
Last night I'm playing Dallas CPU and they are up 3-1 going into the 3rd period. Early on they get a power play on a really weak call and low and behold I pop in a shorty with about 20 seconds left in the PP....what do you think happens next.....directly following the face-off, the CPU dumps the puck into my zone where my D gets it along the boards and begins to skate it out of the zone several steps ahead of the pursuing CPU forward.....magically, the CPU forward catches up to my TOP D man and checks him from behind which somehow changes the physics of the puck to go in reverse right to the CPU forward who takes the puck and shoots it from along the boards right through Rask's pads and into the net...complete bullshit! My days of playing CPU are about over because of this crap...it's pointless! I'm just wondering this crap happens to anyone else or if I'm just not good enough to play at this level.
I notice many other GMs don't play the CPU and I'd like to think it's not just me and they have the same kind of issues....I try to play every game, CPU or not, but I'm starting to think I may start simming the CPU games because I can't take much more of the shit.

Re: New setting feedback
I play the cpu always and am about .500 against them I can usually call the goals they have these stupid wrap arounds that always go in on me and I posted a post earlier this week with a screenshot of the stats from the game against the rangers I outshot them 38-9 and ended up winning in overtime 2-1 I can't score against the cpu hardly.
I dont know how vancouver is scoring 9 goals a game it seems like against the cpu apparently he found something that works lol

Old Settings Maybe? Seems very unlikely with the correct settings. He shoots the puck very well though so I guess it's possible.bluejackets gm10 wrote:I play the cpu always and am about .500 against them I can usually call the goals they have these stupid wrap arounds that always go in on me and I posted a post earlier this week with a screenshot of the stats from the game against the rangers I outshot them 38-9 and ended up winning in overtime 2-1 I can't score against the cpu hardly.

Re: New setting feedback
Yeah Boston I have the same problem and have already gave up on playing the CPU so I have started simming the games only cause I can't and haven't been able to beat them even though I always seem to get an early lead and they find a way to come back and win every game.. It just makes me way to frustrated. And yeah I have seen that about Vancouver and am curious to how he tears the CPU apart every game..

Should we move the CPU goalie slider down some?

True but it doesn't have to be extreme just down like goalie reflexes down a point

Re: New setting feedback
Thanks guys you actually made me feel a little better!
In reality, I probably win about half my games vs CPU but I just get so pissed when I see this "never happened in the history of the NHL" kind of stuff happening every game vs CPU.
The programmers did such an amazing job on so many things in this game but on some stuff they are complete morons!
Thanks for hearing me vent guys!
As far as the game settings go....we need to figure out how to make sure everybody is using them....but it's nearly impossible I guess.
At the same time, in the long run, it could come back to hurt someone not using them when they face someone that already is used to using them. It's clearly more challenging and if someone is used to getting easy goals, well...you know.

Re: New setting feedback
I'd get a consensus but I wouldn't go from my experience, I've always had trouble scoring, lol
Funny thing was I was just starting to get much better at it until we changed the settings...but I wouldn't want to go back.....there is no way I should lose games 9-0 for a well as I play all other aspects of the game except for scoring.

Re: New setting feedback
I thought I was the only one having issues playing against the CPU but apparently not. I would bump down the CPU's goalie and shooting settings by a notch and just see if that works any better. And someone should try getting in contact with Vancouver, I'm not sure that he has changed his settings or how often he even comes on here. I messaged him a few days ago about a game and he never got back to me. His whole team still has ridiculous stats like last year, I'm sure he's good but it seems unlikely that with these settings most of his defensemen would be outscoring most other teams' star forwards.

Ya I did notice all Vans stats are high. I have 1 player above a point a game and my offense is quite potent.Sabres GM wrote:I thought I was the only one having issues playing against the CPU but apparently not. Re: New setting feedback
Seriously you guys?
I moved my stats the night you posted them......
It's not rocket science. You moved shot accuracy all the way down, then you put slap shot accuracy and one timer accuracy all the way up.......so.......I take more slap shots and one timers because they'll hit the net where other shots have a much lower chance...
To get in good position to take slap shots and one timers? I'm just good at this game........ I mean come on, not to toot my own horn, but TOOT - I beat everybody last season while I relied on rookies rated under 70...
But if you wanna ask if I'm cheating? Just ask me straight up.

Re: New setting feedback
Well that definitely makes sense, and is probably something we should adjust. Most of the shit goals the CPU has scored against me have been slapshots. There's been like, guaranteed 2 of those goals per game minimum when playing against the CPU for me. Doesn't really make sense if you think about it, I don't think any of the shooting accuracy things should be all the way up. They should probably all be equal so it relies more on you and the individual player more than anything else.

What do you guys propose for the settings then

Re: New setting feedback
Try adjusting the accuracy for slapshots and one-timers to the same level as wrist shots, which seem fine.
