Re: Trade proposal Washington - Toronto
This post has been up for 4 days almost now, can we get a 3rd yes, or at least an explanation for a no? If possible I would like this to be submitted for the next advance.

I vote no...
Wolski's not the best player ever, but worth a lot more than some grinder who won't go anywhere, and a 3rd round pick to get another guy who won't go anywhere...
You guys can do better than that...that's not a very good trade

I respect your decision but keep in mind Wolski really isnt going to get any better and at best he is a fringe 2nd line player. This is to move some salary on a player who is on the final year of his contract and will not be getting resigned...

Re: Trade proposal Washington - Toronto
That's true, it's extremely unlikely he'll get any better...but it's cheaper to keep him on your roster at 0.6mil than it is to take on Broll at 0.62mil (I will also eat my hat if Broll ever reaches 81ovr) and then to add another player's salary with the pick... He's a complete steal at 0.6mil, and an excellent depth player...
He's still a valuable 2nd or 3rd line player, if that's the role you want him for of course, and, as I said, his value as a cheap, depth winger is huge...he should be going for more than a bucket of pucks...

Re: Trade proposal Washington - Toronto
Your reasoning shouldn't have anything to do with how I have the depth of my team, the point of the trade approval or decline, is on value that is offered. Broll is not an NHL player so he will not be eating any salary and I would only be clearing cap space. Plus, I have a good prospect by the name of Tom Wilson that needs minutes and Wolski is taking up those minutes. Add the fact that I lost a player to waivers in Marcus Joannson to the computer that I hope to get back in the near future due to the crap computer, I have a log jam of players and not enough spots.
If you are going to go into that much depth on your reasoning, at least do the research on it before you go blaring off your opinion.

Buddy, I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but I am looking this from all angles, like I would any trade, and I"m saying, it doesn't add up...
Why would you trade him for some guy who won't play and a low pick? If you want roster space, but want to get ride of a guy who has actual value for rating and, almost more importantly, cheap salary, why would you want another guy?
Why wouldn't you trade him for like a 2nd or 1st round pick straight up?

Vancouver brings up a good point. 3rd round picks don't amount to much and Wolski is a decent player. My vote is no
2-2
2-2

Re: Trade proposal Washington - Toronto
I personally see nothing wrong with this trade at all. Wolski is a steal at .6 million, but he's not a good player anymore. Washington clearly wants to move a top 9 forward because he has young guys that need minutes. Wolski is a vet taking up valuable mins. And if your gonna play Wolski on the 4th line, why not trade him and get a young guy as well as a 3rd round pick. You guys say 3rd rd picks don't amount to much. Don't let Steve Mason hear you say that lol.
I vote yes and will defend my stance on it.

Or what about guys like quick, clutterbuck, and Richards they have all been drafted in the third round I do believe.. The good thing about the draft is you don't know how good of a player you will get and how fast they will develop

This isn't real life.... As much as we want it to be. In NHL 13, I'm pretty sure not one 3rd pick got above 75 or even cracked an NHL Roster

Re: Trade proposal Washington - Toronto
If we are going by the assumption of draft picks does not equal out to anything in this league then why bother allowing draft picks at all then? I mean to me the point of draft picks is essentially for value of moving salary in NHL 14, since how far are we going to get in this league? Year 3? 4? What prospects from the mid first round or later are going to be decent roster players during that period will actually have an impact in this league? Maybe EA has worked with that, but in past years, I can tell you that the answer would be slim to none.
I apparently cannot justify a 3rd round pick, but you are delusional in thinking Wolski would go for a 1st round pick. I don't even see him going for a 2nd rounder, but maybe my thinking is more real to life than in a virtual game.
If that's the case then why don't I just send him to the minors? Which I probably will if this is not approved. Ridiculous to think I am essentially arguing against myself for more value in this trade.

Re: Trade proposal Washington - Toronto
I will add...if by season 2 or 3 we see no change in ea drafting chance in 2-3-4th round then we could change the way we draft but now we have to assume a 3rd round have the real value of a 3rd round!!!
