Things like this that ruin a league Empty Things like this that ruin a league

Post by Guest19 Wed Sep 25, 2013 10:53 am

I joined the league last week.  I have not even played more than 5 games and in 2 of them, the GM's that I played "lost connection" late in the 3rd period when I was winning.  Both times I argued with these GM's about the rules policy with lost connection, which so everyone else is also aware is as follows:

 5. LOST CONNECTION
Any game played between 2 GMs that experiences a lost connection should proceed as follows:
A) A new game will be started.
B) Goalies will be pulled from the game until the score is equal to what it was when the connection was lost in the original game
C) Game clock will then be run to the point where the original game lost connection.
D) Normal play will then be resumed.

Yet, this did not happen.  Both times I had to waste my time messaging these people, and yet they would not play the game as per the rules policy.  Both times I had to replay the entire game all over again.

So I am a bit annoyed, because it does not make a difference if it was a rage quit (looking at you Colorado GM) or if it actually was just a lost connection (looking at you Vancouver GM), the rules policy should be followed regardless, and having to replay games at 0-0 is unfair to those who were winning. We are not children here...

What was the score:)???

Colorado and Vancouver, what happen?

Because when I played you both the connection was good and I play from Europe!!

Give Washington the W and move on.

With Colorado he was winning 2-1 with like 5 min left, I think I got a Power Play and I called a timeout. Once the game resumed it started lagging a bit. I scored on the power play and then I scored with like 5 seconds left to go up 3-2. He rage quit and said that due to the lag, that was the reason I won and he would only replay the game all over again.

With Vancouver I was winning 3-2 with 2 minutes left when during a stoppage the game dropped. We started another game and I pulled my goalie like the rules stated to have the score the way it was and run it to the 3rd period. But, he would not do that and we went back and forth for about a half hour. So, I quit and one last time tried to play the game over again the way it was when it dropped. Eventually I gave up and just played him over again because I wanted to play a game. Low and behold I lost that game 5-4....

It's in the rules, I know it can be a pain in the ass to sit there and let the time run out especially when there wasn't much time left but it's the only fair thing to do. Whether you rage quit or had a connection issue, you don't get to make up your own set of rules. Needless drama like this takes the fun out of it. You guys are no different than the rest of us, you don't get rematches because you can't take a loss and you don't get to just disregard the rules you disagree with.

It's unacceptable that two original members of the league are not following the rules. WSH is right about the rules

There are no gray areas with this rule.  If you have these issues please report them as soon as possible.  It's easier to deal with when it happens as opposed to days later.

Any games that lose connection are to be resumed with time and score as it was when the connection was lost.  If another GM refuses to do that it should be reported as well.

Colorado and Vancouver must follow rules or disciplinary actions will be required. You guys are both vets in this league and both know better. I say your next game against Washington he should be able to play your CPU. I understand it's early and you wanna keep records in tact, but I am currently 15-0-1 and let my 2 games with the devils go to sim because it was the respectful thing to do. Remember guys integrity. You guys should apologize.
